Multi-Use Container

This multi-use container is especially useful for holding bags. Use PVC snap clamps to attach the opening of a bag to the edges of the top square. This way, the container can be used as a trash container, a dirty clothes hamper or a pool-side towel hamper. Several similar containers can be used to sort recycling. This container can also be enclosed by gluing PVC sheeting to the outer surfaces.

REQUIRED ITEMS:

• 8 18 inch pipe pieces
• 4 36 inch pipe pieces
• 8 3 way corner connectors

STEPS:

1. Lay four 18 inch pipe pieces into a square shape. Attach the corners with three way corner-connectors. The remaining opening of the connectors should all face upward.
2. Repeat Step 1 to create an identical square.
3. Connect the two squares by inserting a 36 inch pipe piece between the openings of the two squares.

SUGGESTIONS:

• Use four PVC snap clamps to hold a bag open along the edges of the upper square.
• Use this as a trash bag, laundry hamper or pool-side towel hamper.

Marshmallow Shooter

REQUIRED ITEMS:

• 6 4 inch pipes
• 1 8 inch pipe
• 2 Elbow connectors
• 2 T connectors
• 2 End caps
• Mini marshmallows

All pipe should be the same diameter. Recommended diameter is 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch.

STEPS:

1. Connect two 4 inch pipe pieces with an elbow connector. Label one pipe "A" and the other "B." Orient the pipes so that "A" points to your left and "B" points toward you.
2. Insert the other end of pipe B into the middle opening of a T connector. Place an additional 4 inch pipe into each remaining T connector opening. The pipe that points to your left is "C." The one that points to the right is "D."
3. Place an elbow connector on the end of pipe "C." The remaining opening should face toward you. Place a 4 inch pipe in the remaining opening. Attach an end cap to the end of that pipe.
4. Place a T connector on the end of pipe "D." The middle opening of the T connector should face toward you. Place a 4 inch pipe segment in the middle opening and attach an end cap to the opposite end. Insert a 8 inch pipe to the remaining T connector opening.
5. Push a mini-marshmallow as far into the 8 inch pipe as possible. Blow into pipe "A" to shoot the marshmallow out the barrel.

SUGGESTIONS:

Decorate with paint or by wrapping it in duct tape.

Simple Marshmallow Dart

REQUIRED ITEMS:

• 2 9 inch pipe segments
• 1 5 inch pipe segment
• 1 T connector
• 1 End cap

All pipe should be the same diameter. Recommended diameter is 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch.

STEPS:

1. Lay the two 9 inch pipe segments in a horizontal line. Connect in the middle with the straight openings of the T connector.
2. Insert the 5 inch pipe segment in the remaining T connector opening. Place the end cap on the opposite end.
3. Push a mini-marshmallow as far into one end of the open pipe as possible. Blow on that end, and the marshmallow will shoot out the other end.

SUGGESTIONS:

• Paint the dart in camo colors.

Simple Shelves

REQUIRED ITEMS:

20        2-foot pipe segments

9          1-foot pipe segments

8          3-way corner connectors

4          4-way corner connectors

6          T connectors

3          4 ft by 1 ft pieces of plywood, PVC sheeting, or similar material

STEPS:

1.    Place two 2-foot pipe segments in a straight line. Connect them together with a T connector. Repeat until you have 6 identical 4-foot segments.

2.    Place two of these segments parallel to each other, with the open T connector opening facing the opposite segment. Connect the open T connector openings with a 1 foot pipe segment.

3.    Place a 3-way corner connector on each end of both segments. The open connector openings should face upwards and toward the opposite segment. Connect the parallel openings with a 1 foot pipe segment.

4.    Repeat steps 2 and 3.

5.    Repeat steps 2 and 3, using 4-way corner connectors instead of the 3-way corner connectors in Step 3.

6.    Place the first rectangle created in Step 3 (the first time) on the workspace so that the connector openings face upward. Place a 2-foot piece of pipe in the upward openings.

7.    Connect the rectangle created in Step 5 to the top of these upright pipes.

8.    Place a 2-foot pipe in the remaining 4-way connector openings.

9.    Place the rectangle created in Step 4 over the top of these upright pipes.

10. Glue a 4 ft by 1 ft piece of plywood or PVC sheeting over each shelf for a surface.

SUGGESTIONS & OPTIONS:

   

• Glue a 4 ft by 4 ft piece of shelf material to the back surface for a backboard.
• Glue 4 ft by 1 ft piece of the shelf material to the outer edges of the shelves to enclose them.
• Glue a 2 ft by 1 ft piece of material between the center pipes to create divided shelves or cubbies.
• Resize the plans by modifying the size of the pipes or by adding additional shelves.
